The area is known as “Quercy, Rouergue and the Gorges de l’Aveyron” (or QRGA). The surroundings are rich in monuments and natural sites for sport, fun activities, or simply strolling through the streets of our picturesque villages.

The surrounding villages
Here are a few of the villages that, thanks to their sites, activities, or simply their beauty, are well worth a stop. Villages awarded the “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France®” label are marked with the label’s logo.
Najac ~ 10 km (Aveyron – 12)
Perched along a rocky ridge and overlooked by a fortress once fought over by the Kings of France and England, Najac stretches its stone-slate-roofed houses above the wild gorges of the Aveyron. Walking the old ramparts path rewards you with breathtaking views over the wide-open landscape…
Caylus ~ 10 km (Tarn-et-Garonne – 82)
A medieval town set in a green haven! A picturesque site in the Bonnette Valley in the South-West, Caylus has long been a crossroads – which largely explains the town’s ancient origins and the major development it saw during the Middle Ages.
Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val ~ 20 km (Tarn-et-Garonne – 82)
Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, a medieval village nestled in the Gorges de l’Aveyron, is a true slice of history where canoeing/kayaking and outdoor activities reign supreme. Its many architectural and natural assets have made it an essential economic, cultural and tourist hub of the Tarn-et-Garonne.
Saint-Cirq-Lapopie ~ 35 km (Lot – 46)
Perched on a cliff overlooking a bend in the Lot river, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie is a masterpiece of the medieval era. Overlooked by the fortified church, houses with steep brown-tiled roofs reveal their harmonious shapes along picturesque lanes. A place that captivated artists and writers, including André Breton, who made the village his summer home.
Cordes-sur-Ciel ~ 40 km (Tarn – 81)
About twenty kilometres from Albi, perched above the Cérou Valley, Cordes-sur-Ciel is one of the oldest bastide towns in Occitanie and a masterpiece of Gothic architecture.
Bruniquel ~ 45 km (Tarn-et-Garonne – 82)
Stone or timber houses, corbelled or half-timbered, turrets, twin or mullioned windows, arched doorways, flower-lined lanes… it’s a wealth of little details that makes Bruniquel so charming. This former stop on the pilgrim routes to Santiago de Compostela, at the meeting point of the Quercy, Albigeois and Rouergue regions, has also preserved its castles and ramparts.
Fun and sporting activities
Here’s a short, non-exhaustive list of sporting and fun activities around our residence.
- Whether you’d like to take it easy or keep on paddling even on holiday, canoeing / kayaking awaits you all along the Aveyron river.
- Get up in the air! Skydiving, hot-air balloon rides, a first flight in a microlight, flying lessons… it’s up to you to decide what would send you over the moon!
- For the adventurous, you can go rock climbing, caving or via ferrata in the beautiful spots made for it around here.
- Our region is criss-crossed with GR long-distance trails and other hiking paths. In fact, a hiking trail runs right along our residence. And why not hike a stretch around Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val accompanied by a donkey to carry your bag?
- You can also go for mountain biking if walking isn’t really your thing. Local authorities have put real effort into cycling routes over the past few years.
- Freshwater fishing is also possible in our rivers and lakes.
- Or simply “doing nothing” by one of the region’s lakes, with some of them offering swimming, wakeboarding, pedal boats and other water activities.
- Don’t hesitate to visit a treetop adventure park for a pleasant, stress-free day up in the trees with family or friends.
Lakes, rivers and leisure centres
Lac de Parisot ~ 3 km (Tarn-et-Garonne – 82)
In the heart of the Occitanie countryside, in Quercy-Rouergue, the Parisot leisure centre offers supervised swimming and activities.
Its landscaped lake, covering almost 8 hectares, offers a wide white-sand beach. For relaxing moments, the shade of a weeping willow is ideal, and for the more adventurous, water games and a skate park await.
Children can also let off steam at the secure playground.
Lac de Labarthe ~ 10 km (Tarn-et-Garonne – 82)
The Cirque de Labarthe protected natural area, just below the village of Caylus, lies on the foothills of the Massif Central, right on the boundary between two outstanding landscapes: the Caylus limestone plateau and the Bonnette valley and Gorges de l’Aveyron, as well as a leisure park with a public paddling pool and a small open-air café to eat and drink at in summer. Free access all year round.
Parc de la Lère ~ 30 km (Tarn-et-Garonne – 82)
Between Caussade and Monteils, the Parc de la Lère is ideal for relaxing family moments.
You’ll find a beautiful natural area with remarkable wildlife and plant life. Shaped by both people and time, the Parc de la Lère spreads peacefully across 55 hectares
This vast green, lake-dotted area lies within a protected zone and works to preserve and showcase local wildlife and plant life. A true haven of peace, it’s the ideal setting for relaxing moments and offers plenty of outdoor leisure options: fishing, playgrounds for children, cycling, a fitness and orienteering trail, picnic areas, wakeboarding, model flying (radio-controlled model planes)…
Lac de Molières ~ 50 km (Tarn-et-Garonne – 82)
Lac de Molières is the perfect place for a family holiday in a calm, natural setting, while enjoying plenty of activities for both children and parents.
All year round, you can enjoy a range of sporting activities such as hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and the fitness trail.
In season, Lac de Molières offers visitors various water activities such as swimming on a fine sandy beach, and pedal boat, canoe and paddleboard hire.
